\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\tConnecting the south to the north through quality rail infrastructure is the challenge that the Togolese authorities want to take up with the construction of the Lom\u00e9-Cinkass\u00e9 railway, on the border with Burkina Faso.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t \t\t The Lom\u00e9-Cinkass\u00e9 railway, which will be nearly 700 km long, aims not only to support the development and growth of the Togolese economy, but also to stimulate cross-border trade and the growth of hinterland economies.<\/p>\n Entrusted to the state holding company Togo Invest, the project, for which pre-feasibility studies have already been carried out, will also make it possible to develop effective and efficient logistics systems around the port and the railway line, accelerate containerized transport to the Sahel countries, and create several jobs.<\/p>\n Rail transport management is the responsibility of the MTRAF through the General Directorate of Transport (DGT), which houses the Directorate of Road and Rail Transport (DTRF). Togo has a rail network of 495 km of metre-gauge lines. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t \t\t The network is currently only operated on the Tabligo \u2013 Dalav\u00e9 section of the Togblekop\u00e9 \u2013 Tabligo line for the transport of clinker or ore, and on the private SNPT line between Hahoto\u00e9 and the specialized maritime terminal of Kp\u00e9m\u00e9, i.e. over 37 km, for the transport of phosphates.<\/span><\/p>\n The Togolese railway network has not undergone any significant renovation. In fact, there have been no passenger trains since the mid-1990s.\u00a0<\/p>\n A vast regional program, led by ECOWAS and UEMOA, provides for the rehabilitation of the railway networks in the ECOWAS region, including that of Togo, and their interconnection. This program, included in the ECOWAS railway plan, provides for 17 interconnection links by 2030, with the rehabilitation of existing links (lines). Planned as part of a public-private partnership, its objective is to contribute to the reduction of the road network and the exploitation of the region's natural resources, particularly mineral resources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
